El Christstollen es un pan servido como postre durante el tiempo de Adviento y Navidad y que tiene formas que recuerdan a un niño recién nacido envuelto en sus pañales. Por esta razón se cubre de polvo de azúcar. La historia de este típico dulce navideño alemán se remonta al año 1329. En esta época se elaboraban aún de manera muy pobre a base de agua, avena y aceite de colza, dado que la tradición católica no permitían la ingesta de leche y mantequilla durante los periodos de ayuno. El arenque es un pescado muy utilizado en la gastronomía escandinava, alemana, holandesa y también en la de ciertos países de Europa del Este. Numerosos platos de la cocina polonesa y judía askenazi se realizan utilizando diferentes formas de preparar este pescado. La receta que he realizado hoy utiliza arenques Matjes. En esta ocasión os traigo una receta de pastas muy típica del sur de Alemania y otros países de Europa por estas fechas en la víspera de Sankt Martin, Martinsgänse Backen.
